HAA Great Youth Basketball 2025-2026 - Winter II 2025

Youth basketball league for ages 6 through 16 (You cannot turn 17 prior to January 1st, 2026). We are open to both boys and girls of all experience levels. Registration in ages 6 through 16 for both boys and girls.

Program Duration: Practices will start December 2025

Regular season will run from January 3, 2025 through February 21, 2025

EVERYBODY plays Every Game.

All games will be held on Saturdays at the Holt Athletic Association Gym (HAA) located at 201 Milton Road, Durham NC 27712.

Practices will most likely be held on Fridays evenings, after the games on Saturdays or Sundays after 12:00, currently depending on the coach and gym time availability.

Games will run for 8 weeks. The tournament may be held during the week following the last game. Game times will be announced once we know the number of teams/players that register.

League is open to all boys and girls ages 6 through 16.  Depending on the number of registrations, teams and age groups may be adjusted.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • Is there a Waiver of Liability?: Yes. All players will be sent a Waiver of Liability that must be filled out and returned to Holt before they can play or practice.
  • Uniforms: Full Refundable Uniform Fee $20 = You are welcome to keep the uniform at the end of the season however, you can also return the uniform in a clean usable shape at the end of the season and your $20 will be refunded.
  • Game Dates/Locations: All games will be held on Saturdays at the Holt Athletic Association Gym (HAA) located at 201 Milton Road, Durham NC 27712.
  • Practices: Practices will most likely be held on Fridays evenings, after the games on Saturdays or Sundays after 12:00, currently depending on the coach and gym time availability. We do ask that coaches sign up for the practice times and that initially they limit the time to 1 hour until all the coaches have a scheduled time. Once all coaches have practice slots, Coaches can increase their time if there is

  • Who can participate?: League is open to all boys and girls ages 6 through 16. Depending on the number of registrations, teams and age groups may be adjusted.
  • Are there Door Fees?: HAA will be providing referees at every game to help teach your child the correct rules of the game. To help offset the referee costs and to keep the HAA registration costs affordable, we do collect a $5.00 admission fee for ages 16 and up at the door on game days. There is no fee for the players.
  • Can I help coach?: This is a small community recreation league run by two people. We do ask willing parents to help with coaching these children. Please contact Don or Janette via email at dondaves@holtathleticassociation.org if you are interested in being a coach and please specify the age group.
  • Do coaches/assistants get name badges?: Every coach and their 1 assistant coach will get a photo name badge so their door entry fee can be waived. All coaches and their 1 assistant coach must be wearing their photo badge on game days to get free admission into the game. If you don’t bring your badge to the game, the person at the door will not know you are a coach and will expect the $5.00 entry fee.
  • Discounts for children of coaches?: If you are interested in being a coach, the registration fee for your child is adjusted.
  • What can I do besides coach?: This year we will be asking parents to help run the clock, score keeper, door admission, and helping with the concession stand. If anyone is interested in any of these positions, please contact dondaves@holtathleticassociation.org for details. Training will be provided.
  • Can I bring in outside food?: PLEASE – We ask that parents and fans to NOT BRING in outside food or drinks on GAME DAYS. The concession stand has a variety of drinks, coffee and food items for your enjoyment. The money from the door and concession stand help pay for the referees. If you have a particular food request please let us know prior to the game season starting and we will try to accommodate that request when possible
  • What about coffee/drink cups, etc?: DO NOT BRING IN outside drink cups or coffee mugs, Starbucks or McDonalds coffee, you will be asked to drink it outside.
  • Player/Coach drinks & snacks?: Coaches and Players are allowed to have drinks and snacks brought in for the players and kept at their bench during the games. Each Team is allowed 1 head coach and 1 assistant coach in the player bench area during a game. No other parent/fan is allowed on the player bench.

Uniform Deposit $20.00 Per Item
There is a refundable uniform deposit of $20 that will be returned at the end of the season with the return of an undamaged uniform.
